Becoming part of a committee is a great way to get involved with Houston BOMA! Committee participation provides numerous opportunities for developing and strengthening career connections and leadership development.
What are Houston BOMA's committees?
Houston BOMA has ten committees available, and each one is focused on a specific event, program, or initiative of Houston BOMA. There's something for everyone! Read about each of our committees here.
What does a committee do?
While the charges of each committee are strategically set by the association leadership, it is up to the committee members to achieve the annual goals of the committee through teamwork and a collective vision. The work of the Houston BOMA’s committees is vital to the continued success and advancement of the association.
What do I need to know about serving on a committee?
Each committee has ten positions, comprised of seven Building Members and three Allied Professional Members. A chair, vice chair and board liaison are chosen to lead each committee. Committee terms run on the calendar year – from January to December – and members can serve up to three terms.
How do I join a Houston BOMA committee?
It is strongly encouraged that you apply for any committees that peak your interest! While most committees are set by January 1, vacancies occasionally come up mid-year, so you're welcome to apply at any time. If the committee(s) you have chosen are full, you will be added to a waiting list and you will be contacted when your spot opens up.
